This is comparable to name brand screen protectors

These screen protectors work pretty well for me and will fit the iPhone 3G and 3GS. If you look at them at an angle, there is a little bit of a "rainbow" effect... the way it's refracting light. I doubt most people would even notice it. Like all screen protectors, these are a bit hard to put on without getting bubbles and dust under the screen. I liked that there were two tabs on these that make them a bit easier to properly line up and stick onto the iPhone Screen. The included wipes and squeegee helps too. I found that these are comparable to the Case-mate brand screen protectors I usually buy... but these are a better value. The frustration-free packaging is a plus too.
Conclusion:
These iPhone screen protectors are of high quality and are at a reasonable price. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more of these. When they're on the phone, you can't tell there's even a screen protector on it. They're a bit challenging to put on... but all of the screen protectors out there are like that. I added a tip section to help you with the process if you've never done it before. It will hopefully help you minimize messing up on placing them on your iPhone.
Tip: To help line up the screen protectors perfectly and stick them on without bubbles, here's a method I'd like to share... because it's quite frustrating to do it wrong and waste screen protectors in the process. So here's the way I like to do these: To line up the screen protectors properly, lay it flat onto the iphone screen (with the sticker tabs still in place). Once you have it lined up along the edges perfect, tape the bottom of it (with scotch tape) to bottom of the phone. This helps keep it lined up. If you do this properly, you should have a "hinge" created by the tape. Now, completely remove the bottom mask ( So that the sticky side is now completely exposed)... but keep the top tab/mask intact. Now while holding the top sticker tab, you can slowly squeegee the screen protector onto the iphone screen (bottom side of phone first... working your way up to the top of the iphone)

Easy to install, nice feel, and protects the iPhone nicely. I only need to see how long this will last with usage. Most other screen protectors get foggy over time and don't prevent the iPhone from getting scratched---so time will only tell for this one. But right now, I would recommend this product.

The best mobile device screen protection I've seen

I have been using mobile pocket devices for almost a decade (Palm Pilot, iPod touch, iPhone), and most of them have screens that scratch relatively easily, hence the need for a protective screen. Screens, however, tend to be exceedingly hard to apply, and this one from Amazon is no exception. However, Amazon has gone the farthest as far as helping users apply the screen to their device with a few small improvements. The most significant of those are the two "masks" that are attached to the back and front of these protective films - one to be removed before the application, and one after. They help prevent accidental smudges on the film during the application process. The application process, however, is still exceedingly frustrating. It is very hard to align the protective film with the device screen, and even the smallest speck of dust that gets caught between the film and the screen can create air bubbles that give the whole screen and unappealing appearance. Once you get it applied though, the screen is as functional and effective as they come. The film feels good to the touch and has significantly reduced glare. My only objection is that the whole around the home button on the front could have been a tad bit larger.
This product comes in Amazon's "frustration free" packaging, which was indeed very easy to open, albeit not exactly frustration-free. The cardboard that the packaging was made out was flimsy and that tab that needed to be ripped in order to open the package sort of broke of. Nonetheless, the very flimsiness of the packaging made it very easy to rip apart and open even without the use of the tab.
