Film Installation Instructions - Clean your screen with a lint-free cloth to remove any dirt; make sure that there are no dust particles or oil deposits on your screen Step 1 - Starting at one edge, slowly peel back the larger backing of the screen film Step 2 - Align the edge of the film to your screen Step 3 - Gently peel back the larger backing of the screen film and allow screen film to fall onto your screen Step 4 - Use a lint-free cloth to secure the film to your screen and rub out the air bubbles to ensure proper adhesion; there may be temporary air bubbles in the silicone adhesive; unless there is dust trapped under the film, these air bubbles will disappear in time; if dust is trapped under the film, attach a piece of cellophane tape to the corner of the film closest to the air bubble and lift up; take a second piece of tape and dab the piece of dust; once the piece of dust has been removed from the film or the screen, lay the film back down using a lint-free cloth to push out any air bubbles Step 5 - If you wish to remove the film from your screen, apply a strip of cellophane tape to the corner of the film and use it to peel the film off of the surface of the screen

Well designed product, eliminates smudging

I knew as soon as I got the iPod Touch that I would want a screen protector to help prevent scratches and other mars on the surface, but it wasn't long before I decided I also wanted the film to minimize the fingerprints and smudging that so easily appeared on the iPod screen.

This matte-finish film does an excellent job of that, as well as eliminating almost all screen glare. As the other reviewer said, it does come with the trade-off of having a *slightly* duller, darker output from the screen but although it is noticeable I don't find it objectionable in the least. It's much like a photo printed on matte paper vs. glossy paper.

Application was fairly easy, but a few common sense precautions should be mentioned. As much as possible, work in a dust-free area. Start applying the film by lining up the hole for the home button and keep in mind the film is narrower than the screen so it will need to be kept straight as it's applied. If you need to lift it up and reapply, use a piece of tape to lift the film. Be careful when you hold the film by the edges - it's very easy for part of your finger to touch the `sticky' side.

Air bubbles are no problem and can be smoothed out without lifting the film. The film application is quite well designed. The hardest part is lining it up straight.

I've been using the screen protector for several weeks and have found that it stays firmly in place, eliminates glare, and reduces smudges by about 90%. The package comes with 2 protectors, a pre-application screen cleaner, and instructions.

Solid product with a minor drawback

Installation

Installation was not as simple as I expected based on reviews I'd read, but was relatively painless. I was a little frustrated lining up the film with the sides, as it does not cover the entire surface, leaving you to "eyeball" the alignment. However because it does not attach with adhesive, I was able to pull it up and realign a couple times without difficulty. One corner lost a bit of its "stickiness" in the process, but it is covered with the Agent18 ClearShield Screen Protector for iPod touch 2G (Clear) I also bought. I had no trouble eliminating bubbles, and as far as screen applications go this was my best experience.

Tip: if a little dust does attach itself to the underside of the film during application, just lift it with a bit of Scotch tape. Works like a charm. Obviously you should not attempt to remove with your fingers.

Pros

The screen protector works just as advertised. Once the film is attached, you won't be distracted by reflections on the screen or smudges and fingerprints. The surface is also a little easier to use, the finger just glides across it. I don't know how scratch resistant it is yet, I try not to invite disaster. :)

Cons

The unfortunate drawback to the film is a slightly grainy picture quality and dulled colors. When I say "slightly" I am not trying to be nice; it is a noticeable difference, but not a serious one. In my opinion the smudges were far more annoying, and video looks fantastic with the film. It is a tradeoff, however, not unlike the choice between lcd and plasma. Both have their advantages, and it's up to the individual to choose which they prefer.

Exactly what I needed

I own an itouch 2nd generation which I greatly enjoy using. However my itouch gets scratches, glares in the sun, and is sometimes hard to glide the finger across the glass screen, dampens my experience with my itouch. Using power support anti-glare film for itouch 2g has provided me exactly what I needed. A screen protector that protects from scratches, enables one to see the screen without glares from the sun, and a smooth gliding.

Easy to apply, just thoroughly clean the itouch screen, then use the pre-application(the white paper) and apply it onto the screen, and remove. This removes all dust or any remaining particles that is not removed by thoroughly cleaning it. Then take out the 1 of the 2(yes 2) screen protectors, and apply it onto the itouch screen. Be careful not to touch the adhesive part of it, and be careful when you are about to place it down as it attracts to the screen. After you apply it, simply use the cloth that came with the itouch, or a lint free cloth to remove any air bubbles formed. It is to your best advantage you do not use it until one day has passed because it will allow the screen protector to fully attach it, and any remaining air bubbles you could not remove will be gone(My opinion that you should wait one day, you do not need to do this.)

I have bought this on 09/23/2009, and today's date is 10/24/2009, one month and one day. The screen protector is still intact, there are no scratches still, it is still easy for me to glide my finger across, there are no air bubbles, I am still able to see the screen under the sun, and it still remains the best screen protector I have used.
